THOMAS J. COLLURA  is a principal of the firm and a member of the firm's Corporate, Real Estate, and Estate Planning and Administration Practice Groups, focusing his legal practice upon tax, corporate, estate, and commercial transactions. Tom is also a CPA and has broad experience as corporate and tax counsel representing entrepreneurs, emerging growth companies, and established businesses. As corporate tax counsel, Tom has significant experience counseling clients concerning various complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, tax free reorganizations, like-kind exchanges, and private and venture capital financings. Tom’s tax practice for individuals is focused upon wealth transfer and business succession issues. His tax experience also extends to representing clients in both New York and federal tax matters.

In addition to his law practice, he is a Lecturer and Coordinator of the Masters in Taxation Program at the University at Albany where he teaches courses on Partnership Taxation, Tax Planning for Highly-Compensated Individuals, Estate and Gift Taxation, and Tax Research.

Tom is a graduate of Albany Law School, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Scranton, magna cum laude. He holds the highest peer-review rating from Martindale-Hubbell (A-V). Tom is admitted to practice law in New York and Florida and the United States Tax Court, Chairperson of Government Relations Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates Law Section, and a member of the New York State Bar Association and Albany County Bar Association.
